Burgundy Cafe & Bakery App

Project overview

Burgundy Cafe & Bakery is a local French cafe. They offer a wide variety of fresh baked goods every day. The goal of this app is to make the ordering process easier for customers with busy schedules.

The pain points that many customers faced was having to wait in line during their busy days and then waiting for their order. There was also very little descriptions about their menu items, and the goal was to help provide more accurate descriptions about the food items that users would potentially be ordering. It was also important to users to have easy access to their recent orders in order to view their order status. Lastly, users wanted to be able to order their favorite items at a glance, without having to scroll through the entire menu, so a section was added to the menu for items that were ordered in the past and gives the user a chance to order them again without looking for it.

From the initial usability studies, it showed that users wanted a way to be able to check out with a payment method that was used in the past. They also wanted a way to make the pick up process easier, either with an order number or having the option to have a profile made for the app that would automatically register their name when placing an order. Having a tracker also benefited the users in the sense that they were able to plan their schedule accordingly instead of waiting in the cafe to pick up their order.
